Haystack Store Spotlight of the Day: wotever inc.
wotever inc. has been around in Leslieville for 20+ years, but you may have never heard of it or seen it because they’re tucked away on a tiny street that runs parallel to Dundas. Right off of Carlaw, just north of Dundas, you’ll find Dickens Street. wotever is past Don Valley Auto, and down this tiny street that has Metrolinx construction adjacent to it. It’s a delightful, hidden away gem with a cheery store front.
They have an interesting niche target market and product line that includes a diverse assortment of products specifically designed for setting up and taking down film sets, including the clothing required to keep the crew comfortable and safe, and the tools to make setup and breakdown easy. A portion of their business is renting out wetsuits, warm coats, boots, and other apparel that is essential for the challenging weather conditions this city offers.
The other half of their store is dedicated to products that are for sale specifically to help film crews do their jobs, but are practical items for everyone. They stock everything from Canada Goose jackets, jackets from other Canadian brands, underwear, socks, hard-to-find shoe care kits, dyes, cleaning supplies, sewing materials, an array of tools, and school supplies, such as binder rings, notebooks, notepads, pens, etc.

This is a woman-owned business that focuses on Canadian-made products. They have a range of skin care and shoe care products that are made here, as well as coats and base layers.
