Sustainably Caught High Quality Seafood

Hooked has two locations in East Toronto: one on Queen E and one on Danforth Ave. There is also another store in West Toronto. The Danforth location is a franchise run by Laura and Sean (who are super nice and helpful).

All locations feature sustainably caught seafood. Why does this matter? Many fish are overfished leading to threatened populations, and fishing methods often lead to by-catch (unintended species being caught and dying as a result, often to be tossed away) and damage to the ocean floor and environment.

Hooked makes it easy to make responsible and ethical decisions when it comes to buying seafood. You don’t have to do the research yourself and you can always ask about where the fish and seafood come from and the methods that were used to catch or harvest them.

The quality is also very consistent. They have many sushi grade fish and shellfish in their cases and can help you make decisions on what to buy.

Many of the products at the various locations are the same, including crackers, ready-made soups, fish, shellfish, olives, and various specialty items, but Hooked on the Danforth stocks specialty cheeses as well.

If you’re looking for a responsible way to eat seafood over the holidays, or even just want top quality products, definitely check out any of the locations.
