In many cases, it's the store owner that will be personally dropping gifts off in the neighbourhood, in which they run a local business and live. What better way is there to shop than to find something you love, have a wonderful phone conversation with the store owner or employee, and then have the person stop by your home?
Based on our experiences speaking with the store owners, managers, and employees, they are all delighted to start that spark of a relationship with a new customer or partner!

Charming Parrot, a local clothing store, got set up with a local courier to be able to participate and be included in the stores that we are promoting on this page.
The stores on this list are so diverse and carry so many high-quality and unique products that you should browse their websites and stop by even if delivery capabilities aren't important to you.
A note on the deliveries: all of them are by store owners or local couriers, not multinational organizations because we want to support small businesses end-to-end.

You might ask why we took the time to compile this list of local stores that deliver using local companies when there are so many online options that allow shoppers to get products in the snap of their fingers, or with a click of the mouse?
Well, the answer is simple. It's because $1 spent at large, multinational commerce sites does not have the same effect as a dollar spent in a shop in our local community. The difference is that local purchases result in $0.66 per $1 spent staying in the community compared to $0.11 per $1 spent staying in the local community when you shop at a multinational retailer. That's 6 times the money that stays in the community when you choose to shop local!
These local shops provide employment, contribute to local causes, and create a community feel that if gone, would drastically reduce the vibrancy of our city, lower home values, and decrease human interactions that are so important to mental health.
