Shaoxing Wine is one of the most famous varieties of traditional Chinese rice wines. The wine, similar in flavour to sherry, originates from the region of Shaoxing, in the Zhejiang province of eastern China. It isn't easy to find unsalted Shaoxing at the LCBO, so the salted version is available for retail sale and is used in many Chinese recipes. The Pagoda Brand is generally considered to be one of the best.
